Terms of Attendance

Last updated October 2026

Admission

Haunted Little Tokyo is a 21-and-over event. All attendees must present valid government-issued photo identification at entry. Admission is granted pursuant to a revocable license; the event organizers reserve the right to refuse entry or revoke admission at any time, in their sole discretion. RSVP registration is complimentary; a $5 donation at the door is suggested but not required. An RSVP does not guarantee entry in the event that venue capacity is reached. RSVP confirmations are non-transferable and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed. Scheduled performers, DJs, and programming are subject to change without prior notice.

Venue Location

The event venue is disclosed exclusively to confirmed RSVP registrants prior to the event date. Attendees are requested to refrain from publicly disclosing the venue location.

Costume Contest

Attendees may enter the costume contest as individuals or groups via the designated registration forms. Finalists will be invited to appear on stage during the evening program. Individual category winners are determined by popular vote; group category winners are selected by the appointed guest judges. All judging decisions are final and binding.

Code of Conduct

All attendees are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward fellow guests, venue staff, and the surrounding neighborhood. Attendees must comply with all posted signage, street closures, and instructions issued by event security personnel and law enforcement. The organizers reserve the right to deny entry to or remove any individual engaging in disruptive, threatening, or unlawful behavior, without refund. Harassment, physical altercations, or threats of violence will result in immediate removal and may be referred to law enforcement authorities.

Alcohol Policy

Outside alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Attendees who appear visibly intoxicated may be denied entry or removed from the premises. Attendees are expected to consume alcohol responsibly.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of all attendees, the following items are prohibited and may result in denied entry. Security personnel reserve the right to inspect bags at entry:

Weapons of any kind, whether real or realistic in appearance — including as components of costumes. Costume prop weapons must be clearly and obviously non-functional replicas. Illegal substances and drug paraphernalia. Outside alcoholic beverages. Glass bottles or containers. Fireworks, sparklers, or explosive devices. Laser pointers. Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Large backpacks and oversized bags may be refused at the discretion of security personnel.

Identification Verification

Costume masks and face coverings must be removed at the point of entry to permit identity verification. No exceptions will be made.

Event Modification and Cancellation

The organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event due to inclement weather, safety concerns, permit revocation, or other circumstances beyond their reasonable control. Voluntary donations are non-refundable.

Animals

Only registered service animals are permitted at the event.

Photography and Media Release

This is a public event at which photography and videography will take place. By attending, you grant the event organizers the irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to capture, reproduce, and distribute your image, likeness, and voice in event-related media across all formats and channels, without further notice or compensation.

Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

Attendance is at your own risk. Outdoor nighttime events involve inherent risks, including but not limited to crowd density, reduced visibility, elevated sound levels, and uneven walking surfaces. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you hereby waive and release the event organizers, sponsors, venue partners, and their respective officers, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, or causes of action arising from or related to your attendance. The organizers shall not be liable for lost or stolen personal property, personal injury, or other losses incurred at the event. In the event that the organizers are found liable notwithstanding the foregoing, their aggregate liability shall not exceed $100.

Medical Consent

By attending, you consent to the administration of emergency first aid and medical treatment in the event of illness or injury during the event. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, we ask that you refrain from attending.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the event organizers, sponsors, and venue partners from and against any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your conduct at the event or your breach of these Terms.

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your attendance shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration administered in Los Angeles, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You hereby waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
